Ray’s Boathouse Celebrates 50 Years!

Acclaimed Northwest seafood restaurant Ray’s Boathouse will celebrate 50 years in 2023. The James Beard Foundation Award recipient and longtime local favorite restaurant will honor its history from the last 50 years January through June 2023 culminating in a month-long celebration in June. Ray’s first opened on June 23, 1973, on the shores of Shilshole Bay in Ballard.

Chef Shota Nakajima Opens Kobo Pizza inside Redhook Brewlab!

Three-time James Beard Award semi-finalist, Chef Shota Nakajima will open a new pizza concept inside Redhook Brewlab on Saturday, September 10 that draws on his Osaka, Japan roots and is inspired by Detroit-style pizza. The rectangular pizzas will be cooked in steel pans with a thick, crispy crust and crispy cheese lattice around the sides. 

Washington Blueberries Now in Season

Washington blueberry growers are readying for another blueberry season this summer. Eastern Washington is well under way picking and shipping to local grocery stores, restaurants, retail shops, and across the globe. Western Washington will more than double the state’s yields as it enters production.

WA Fresh Asparagus Season Returns April 2022!

Washington State’s family farmers and packers are readying for the 2022 season, when their fresh, vibrant asparagus hits regional supermarkets, farmers markets and restaurant menus from April to June. In 2021, approximately 15 million pounds of asparagus were harvested, with an economic impact of $30 million for growers and packers. Washington State is one of the nation’s leading producers of domestic asparagus.
